Fabrity (K2 Group), specializing in custom software development, has signed another prestigious framework agreement with FRONTEX – the European Border and Coast Guard Agency. FRONTEX intends to spend up to 34 million EUR net on software development with an option to increase the value of orders, with the framework agreement announced in October it gives a total of 50 mln EUR.
The implementation contracts for specific tasks will be concluded on a competitive basis with ten partners who have similar framework agreements. There were twenty-two offers submitted to the tender from contractors and consortia, including the largest global companies in the ICT market. The subjects of the framework agreement are software development, consulting, and maintenance services provided in the Time&Means model. The services will be executed by delivering IT specialists with various competencies to implement projects for FRONTEX under the management of employees of this Agency (nearly 60 competence profiles had been specified and described in detail).
“Fabrity is the only company that concluded both framework agreements with Frontex. That means that we have resources and know-how to cover all the Agency’s needs related to the development and maintenance of business software for up to four years. Our cooperation with Frontex dates back to the end of 2016. Since then, our team has successfully completed several important projects. It happened during a period of a rapid increase in migration of people from the countries of North Africa and the Middle East, and thus also the dynamic development of the Agency. During this cooperation, we gained an in-depth understanding of Frontex’s needs and required business standards. This knowledge, as well as the effort and high competences of the team working on tender procedures, allowed us to successfully close projects within completed framework contracts, as well as to launch cooperation with the Agency for the next four years, with the possibility to significantly increasing the scope of services.”
Tomasz Burczyński, President of Fabrity
“I am glad that our offer has been selected again. This confirms the strength of the technological competences of Fabrity and the entire K2 Group as well as the value of the development path we had chosen, that is building long-term relationships based on a commitment to the tasks entrusted by our clients”
Paweł Wujec, president of the K2 Group
The main difference between the framework agreement signed in October and the current one is that the former one covers several planned projects carried out comprehensively by single partner teams, while the latter includes the provision of specialists working in teams coordinated by FRONTEX employees. The two contracts are complementary and their aim is to cover all software development and maintenance needed at FRONTEX for up to four years.
Of course, the conclusion of a framework agreement does not guarantee to obtain orders, but history shows that Fabrity can break through with quality and commercial conditions no matter how demanding are the competitors around. Under previous framework contracts with FRONTEX, it was Fabrity who carried out the work for most of the budget. The two previous four-year framework agreements with the FRONTEX agency were concluded by Fabrity in 2016-2017. Their structure was similar to the discussed contract, however, they concerned software development and maintenance services in narrower areas, i.e. software on the Microsoft SharePoint platform and Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft products. The maximum value of services that could be provided by all partners was 3.25 million EUR net. Fabrity provided services with a total value of over 2 million EUR net, as part of the implementation of executive contracts, by the end of the third quarter of 2020,
In the coming days, the K2 Group intends to present a strategy until 2023, which will also include issues related to the software segment, the core of which is Fabrity.
More information on the concluded framework agreement can be found in the current report of the K2 Group No. 66/2020.
